Ricoh Tree Dedication Programme Update

To further develop their successful Tree Dedication Programme, Ricoh UK have become a corporate partner to the Seeds for Africa (SFA) registered charity. Endorsed by Alan Titchmarsh, the SFA seeks to train families and communities ‘in gardening skills that bestow independence and dignity, encourage nutritious diets and secure reliable sources of food for the future’.

Adding to their existing portfolio of over 1,000 garden projects across 25 African countries, SFA have recently purchased a 7 acre site at Mummias, in north west Kenya near Lake Victoria. Along with the provision of indigenous vegetable seeds and agricultural equipment, a resource centre will be built on this site, providing job training and increased skills for the local community.

As a partner to the SFA, the Ricoh Tree Dedication Programme will not only help reduce carbon emissions caused by printing and photocopying and combat deforestation affecting parts of Africa, but also help boost nutrition levels and income amongst small communities. So, for every 100,000 prints or photocopies generated on a Ricoh device a fruit tree will be planted in schools across Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.
