Sustainability Policy
Sustainability is concerned with sustained economic activity, environmental protection and social equity. Sustainable development encourages firstly, the conservation and preservation of natural resources, systems and the environment and secondly the management of energy, waste and transportation. It involves the equitable sharing of the benefits of economic activity across all sections of society to enhance the well-being of people, protect health and alleviate poverty. Sustainable development is about meeting the needs of the present without compromising the ability and resources to meet the needs of future generations.
West Mercia Supplies recognises that its operations have economic, social and environmental impacts. It is committed to improving positive performance and reducing adverse impacts through a programme of continuous improvement and integration of social and environmental considerations into its business decisions.
Compliance with the relevant legislation and regulations will be regarded as a minimum standard.
